Xolotl

A world of symbols, mythological figures and elaborate decoration takes shape in a shirt inspired by the cosmology of ancient Mexico, where the opulent aesthetic of the 1990s meets the art and spirituality of pre-Hispanic civilisations.

Xolotl was created in collaboration with a Mexican artist. Its original artwork explores the deep connection between life, death and transformation through references to Nahua tradition.

At the heart of this imagery is Mictlán, the realm of the dead in Aztec cosmology: not merely a place of darkness, but an integral part of existence where new possibilities for life take shape.

Xólotl, a deity associated with sunset and the evening aspect of Venus, represents the passage from light to darkness. According to tradition, he accompanies souls on their journey through the world of the dead.

The spiral of the snail shell and the serpent evoke the cyclical movement of existence and continually renewed energy. Flowers and plants growing from skulls complete the story, expressing a vision of death as part of an ongoing process of transformation rather than a definitive end.

Intense colours, elaborate geometry and symbolic figures unfold through an exclusive placement print, recalling the richly decorative patterns of 1990s fashion.

Made in 100% premium cotton twill, it features fine yarns and a dense weave that create a compact structure while retaining an exceptionally soft, lightweight, almost weightless feel.

The characteristic diagonal twill weave adds to the fabric’s comfort and natural fluidity.
